R&B/Pop superstar and actress Whitney Houston died Saturday at age 48 according to her publicist Kristin Foster. The location and cause of death is currently unknown.
The gospel-trained woman with the golden voice topped the pop music charts during the 1980s and 1990s and established herself as one of the world’s top-selling artists. She later branched out into Hollywood and starred in hit films such as “Waiting to Exhale” and “Bodyguard.”
She later fell from grace however, after a tumultuous marriage to R&B singer Bobby Brown and well-known bouts of drug abuse. Despite several trips to rehab, Houston never manage to reclaim the stardom she once had.
