The 6’2” senior standout led the Comanches to the championship of the Lincoln (Ill.) Thanksgiving Tournament last week.
Minor averaged 23 points a game in leading Cahokia to five consecutive victories in the round-robin tournament. He also hit 22 3-pointers in the five games.
Minor’s top performance of the week came in the championship game when he hit a game-high 37 points to lead the Comanches past Seton Academy 87-72. Minor hit 10 of 16 from the field, including five 3-pointers.
A four-year starter, Minor has been the Comanches leading scorer for the past two seasons. As a junior, he averaged 17.3 points a game while shooting 47 percent from 3-point range. He led Cahokia to a 21-8 record in 2012. Minor was also the state 3-point shooting champion in a competition at last year’s IHSA state tournament in Champaign.
