Vatterott College invites the community to a concert and open house on Aug. 15. St. Louis rapper Chingy headlines this outdoor concert at the campus of Vatterott College, 8580 Evans Ave., in Berkeley. Sponsored by ex’Treme Institute by Nelly-St. Louis (EI), this complimentary concert is open to Vatterott students and members of the general public who are 18 and older.
“This concert comes on the heels of an eight-campus tour for our students,” said Pam Bell, CEO and President of Vatterott Educational Centers Inc. “We have had so much fun meeting new people and celebrating the successes of our students and staff, we decided to bring the concert back to St. Louis to celebrate the end of the summer. We couldn’t be more excited to have Chingy headline the concert.”
The music lineup for the concert features a diverse group of performing artists, representing music genres like rap, R&B and more.
Hip-hop artists Indiana Rome and Saint Orleans open the concert at 5:30 p.m. followed by VEGA, Trixie, Doorway, JGE, Mai Lee, Aloha Mi’sho, Tef Poe, Seviin Li and Chingy.
Chingy’s career kicked off in 2003 with his platinum-selling album Right Thurr. The music video for his most recent single, “Let it Go” debuted in early March, generating enormous buzz about his new work.

Breakout artist Tef Poe has opened for Lupe Fiasco and Big Boi, and has performed alongside Common. XXL Magazine highlighted Tef Poe in March, describing him as, “A Midwestern Nas with a pinch of Kanye, Eminem, 2pac and Ice Cube.”
Top 20 finalist of American Idol Season 4 Aloha Mi’sho (aka Aloha Mischeaux) adds to the talent in the music lineup, with a voice that is often compared to Beyoncé’s. Aloha released her debut album Badd in 2010.
Mai Lee is a pop, R&B and soul singer and songwriter. Her most recent single “Fitness” debuted in July and she plans to release a mixtape in late 2012.

Hip-hop artist, songwriter and producer VEGA has worked with artists including Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Kanye West, Drake, Robin Thicke, Maxwell and more. In addition to producing and writing for other artists, VEGA released his third mixtape Small City Big Dreams in Feb. 2012. VEGA is also known for the hit single “Go Cards (the Rally Song),” which became the hip-hop anthem during the Cardinals’ run for the World Series title last year.
