oldest son born to Robert and Ethlyene Beard Sr. in

Watertown, TN

“font-family: Verdana; line-height: 13px;”>on October 12, 1934.

When Robert was young, his parents relocated to

St. Louis

with him and

his brother, Jimmie. As a young boy, Robert was nicknamed “Buck,”

as we lovingly call him now. He was educated in the St. Louis

Public Schools and graduated from Washington Tech, where he learned

the automotive trade.

Robert met Bobbie Jean Robinson. They began to date and became

inseparable. While they were dating, he drove Bobbie, her mother

and her siblings to church on Fridays and Sundays. He willingly

attended the prayer service meetings and began tarrying for the

Holy Ghost. He was filled with the Holy Ghost and joined Christ

Community Temple COGIC. Robert later asked Bobbie to marry him, and

they were wed on June 24, 1956.

He was baptized, along with his teenage daughter, Michelle, after

strengthening his membership and becoming more active in the

church. He later moved his membership to the New Bethlehem

Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Minister Hosea E.

Gales and was later appointed, trained and ordained as a Deacon. He

devotedly served in this capacity until his health began to

fail.

for Radford Funeral Home and later continued in the Funeral Service

Industry for the Hosea E. Gales-Atkins Home for Funerals and Wade
