On Friday, February 11, the T.A.B Building, located at 5561 Enright, was the site Gov. Matt Blunt chose to introduce Greg Steinhoff as his newly appointed economic development director and to announce the approach they will take to create jobs and promote economic success.

Annetta Vickers is founder and president of the T.A.B. Company.

“Annetta created this great company based on the strength of her character and resolve. We want to replicate what Annetta has done here across the state,” said Blunt.

Vickers strategically used local and state programs to create and grow her six-year-old company into a $2.3 million business.

Steinhoff said, “We are prepared to take a hands-on approach to attracting new business, including reducing the regulatory barriers that stand in the way of prosperity for all Missourians.” Steinhoff also stated that a high priority for his department will be the development of minority businesses by reviewing the options that are available.

“I was quite honored when I received a call from Tom Reiss, the regional director of the governor’s office, asking me if Gov. Blunt could come and meet with me,” said Vickers.

“It seems that the governor was impressed with how I was able to recover from a lay-off, start my own business and purchase my own office/warehouse building.”

T.A.B.’s clients include Enterprise Rent A Car, Saint Louis University and Washington University. Vickers gives credit the St. Louis Minority Business Council (SLMBC) trade fair for providing a platform for her to introduce to major companies T.A.B.’s capabilities for the distribution of office supplies and industrial, construction and video production services.

About Blunt and Steinhoff’s visit to T.A.B., Vickers said, “This is a breakthrough of recognition for T.A.B. My hard work and persistence is paying off.”
