Herman Thomas Jr. has been appointed the new Lutheran Family and Children’s Services director of foster care.
He will oversee the organization’s foster care services, including managing policies and procedures for the program to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with the organization’s values.
Thomas, who holds a master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University, brings more than 20 years of experience serving vulnerable youth and families.
Most recently, he spent a decade with the Family Juvenile Court of St. Louis, where he served as deputy juvenile officer supervisor. In that role, he managed a team of officers, prepared court reports and oversaw cases for children in custody.
