The Nonprofit Management and Leadership Program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis has created a scholarship program through funding provided by the Trio Foundation of St. Louis.

The foundation will award three to five partial-tuition scholarships worth about $3,000 each. The scholarships are available for students currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management and Leadership at UMSL. Students not yet enrolled in the program also are eligible to apply.

The scholarship application deadline for academic year 2007-08 is July 9. The deadline for enrollment in the certificate program is July 1. Scholarship winners will be announced July 23.

The Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management and Leadership is an 18-credit hour program that provides students with the knowledge to manage, lead and govern nonprofit organizations. Students can pursue the certificate as a stand-alone program or pair it with a master’s degree program in public policy administration or social work.

The Trio Foundation of St. Louis is a nonprofit organization devoted to the following areas: arts, youth development, community betterment, education, environment, Jewish community support, social services and women’s issues.
