Two years after transgendered beauty Sidney Starr set the internet ablaze with rumors that she and St. Louis rap star Chingy were in an intimate relationship, Starr posted a video confessing that she made the whole thing up.
“In life people make mistakes – big mistakes – and I’m one of those people,” Starr said in a video that was posted on Worldstar Hiphop. “And I want to give a huge apology to Chingy for anything I caused to throw dirt on your name I was wrong. I want to say I was wrong 100,000 times and I want to get off my chest.”
In a sometimes emotional confessional, Starr goes on to say that not only did she and Chingy not have a relationship, but he didn’t know that she was transgendered when they she met him briefly back in 2010.
“I met him as a fan because I was a backup dancer. He didn’t know anything about me didn’t know anything about me or about my background,” Starr said. “I just want everyone to know the things I said about Chingy weren’t true. I made a mistake. Being transgendered is hard and I thought what I was doing gave me a little notoriety, people paid attention to me. It was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life. Every time I think about it, it just makes me want to go back through the hands of time. I really want to change the past and do it differently. I was just stupid and I’m sorry. To anyone that was affected I’m just sorry. I was wrong.”
Starr admits that the brief interaction that she had with Chingy was nothing more than the usual celebrity meeting/photo op.
“I know this is going to be a video where people talk bad about me, but I was young when I did that. I was 23,” Starr said. I realize that there are just some things you don’t do. I met a lot of celebrities. I met Chingy. I was a fan. I took a picture with him. He was nice. That was it.”
