The presence of the Holy Spirit will rest upon St. Louis beginning Friday, November 1st at 6:00pm as pastors, ministry leaders and prayer warriors gather for a 12-hour prophetic intercession shut-in at Keeping the Faith Empowerment Center, located at 13063 New Halls Ferry Road.
“This is an opportunity for everyone who believes in the power of prayer, to come out and join us as we corporately intercede for the St. Louis region,” said Kacie Starr Triplett, one of the organizers for the event.
During the 12 hours of prayer service, pastors and lay persons will lead targeted prayers that address important issues in St. Louis such as families, homelessness, the expansion of Medicaid, unemployment, crime and violence.
“We are targeting specific strongholds that are attempting to take over our region,” shared Kacie “and through prayer and fasting we will see our region prosper the way God has intended.”
Individuals from different denominations and backgrounds have been invited to participate in the region – wide prayer service with the sole purpose of covering St. Louis with a blanket of prayer.
“The clarion call has sounded for the St. Louis region to come before God in prayer. If there is ever going to be a move of God in our region, it will only happen through the power of prayer,” said senior Pastor Marcus Mickles, of Blow Your Trumpet Ministries in south St. Louis, who will provide an inspirational sermonette Friday evening during the service.
Prayer meetings and shut-In services have had a rich history in the faith community where individuals would gather together inside the church to “shut the door” for prayer and fasting. In recent years, shut-in services have disappeared due to a declining interest and limited participation of individuals willing to sit and pray for an extended time.
“We’re going ‘back to the basics’ with this region – wide Prophetic Shut-In service,” stated Kimm Gaines, an intercessor with her church, Grow 2 Go Christian Center and an organizer for this event. “ We have heard how through corporate prayer, God has moved mightily. Over 20 years ago at a prayer meeting in Chicago, God spoke to and through a woman of God to say that the first Black president would come from the South Side of Chicago.
The Prophetic Intercession Shut-In begins on Friday, November 1st at 6:00pm and continues through Saturday, November 2nd at 6:00am. Keeping the Faith Empowerment Center, located at 13063 New Halls Ferry Road in Florissant, MO will serve as the host church. Free childcare for children six weeks – 12 years of age will be provided throughout the duration of the service.
“This is an epic moment for our community to come together on one accord through the power of prayer. I know that God hears the prayers of His people and has a great blessing in store for every person. God is up to something here in St. Louis.” Kacie Starr Triplett.
