St. Louis resident Carl Harris has filed to run as a Democrat for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District seat.
Harris, a Navy veteran and business consultant, said his campaign will focus on economic opportunity and community development. He previously worked as a writer and community advocate and later in construction and business management.
The race could include a Democratic primary rematch between U.S. Rep. Wesley Bell and former U.S. Rep. Cori Bush. Bell defeated Bush in 2024.
