Former U.S. Rep. Cori Bush has spent recent months hiring staff and may be considering another run against U.S. Rep. Wesley Bell, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported today, citing sources close to Bush’s campaign.
Bush could make an official announcement as early as next week, the Post-Dispatch reported.
After she lost her congressional seat in the expensive August 2024 primary to Bell, then the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney, she hinted in her final House floor speech that she may return to Congress in 2026.
In a brief interview with Spectrum News in June, Bush said she wasn’t giving herself a timeline for making that decision. Her campaign spokesperson at the time confirmed that the ex-congresswoman did indeed plan to seek a second term and that she was building a political action committee to support progressive candidates.
Bell’s spokesman, Jordan Blasé, told the newspaper Bush was “fired by her constituents for failing to represent them and failing to stand up for the Democratic agenda.” He added that Bell “is focused on making life better for his constituents, and that’s the case he’ll continue making on the campaign trail.”

Blasé says Bush doesn’t represent the constituents. Is that code for Bush not supporting the genocide in Gaza?
Hillary Clinton took money from the same AIPAC/United Democracy Project as Wesley Bell. None of the girl bosses who were up our asses about how Hillary should be the next president complained in 2016, Cori Busch is way closer in policy to Bernie Sanders, and Wesley Bell is way closer in policy to Hillary Clinton. So it just goes to show. Women will vote for whoever the Girlboss candidate is, they don’t really care about policy the same way boys who support Trump don’t really. It’s all branding at this point.
