Rev. Earl Nance, Jr., an esteemed civic, community and faith leader was said to have suffered a heart attack at his home Sunday night and was subsequently rushed to the hospital.

He reportedly remains there under observation.

Nance is known throughout the St. Louis community through his active affiliation with organizations such as The St. Louis Public Schools, The Metropolitan Clergy Coalition, Heat Up/Cool Down St. Louis and more.

He serves as senior pastor of Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He succeeded his father – and the church’s founder – Rev. Earl Nance, Sr. as pastor.
