1945-2007

Charles Everett Lonnie Hubbard, known as “Butch,” of Anacortes, WA, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on Friday, May 11, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Seattle, WA with his family by his side.

Born in 1945 in St. Louis, Charles was raised by his parents, Joy and Joseph T. Hubbard Sr. of St. Louis. He attended Sumner High School and graduated from Washington University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in History, English and Personnel Management. He was a combat engineer with the 286th Division Engineers Desert Shield 1985-1995 in Anacortes, WA. He served as a police officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and postal carrier/supervisor/delivery foreman/branch manager with the U.S. Postal Service.

Charles is survived by his loving family: mother, Joy C. Hubbard of St. Louis; daughter Sharon C. Hubbard of Hazelwood; son Joseph Thomas Hubbard III of East Wenatachee, WA; a special friend, Audel E. Andrews of Anacortes, WA; granddaughter Nina Victoria Bright of Hazelwood; brothers Joseph T. Hubbard Jr. of Duncanville, TX, William C. Hubbard (Lacy) of Maryland Heights; sisters Joyce Hubbard-Smith of St. Louis, Carla M. Johnson of St. Louis and Andrea d. Finney (Percy) of Swansea, IL. Also, countless cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends across the country.
