With Proposition A soundly defeated in Kansas City and St. Louis, by wide margins, those most impacted by Rex Sinquefield’s economic experiment have rejected him soundly.

The goal of the campaign was to inform voters of the threat to critical services for St. Louis and Kansas City. We have achieved that goal.

Proposition A was soundly defeated by large margins in both St. Louis and Kansas City. Kansas City voters rejected Prop A 55 percent to 45 percent, and St. Louis rejected Prop A 68 percent to 32 percent.

The practical impact of Tuesday night’s election is Rex Sinquefield spent $11.2 million dollars to make a minor change to Missouri law and learn that the voters of Kansas City and St. Louis will reject his policies come April. After tonight’s Pyrrhic victory, I would not be surprised if Sinquefield and his paid consultants simply decided to leave St. Louis and Kansas City alone.
