“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.” Phil 4:6 (AMP)

During this time of the year many people are focusing on giving thanks to God for all that he has done for them. Families will come together for a special thanksgiving meal and many will remember to give thanks for the blessings that have been released into their lives.

There is a deeper meaning for giving thanks that God wants his people to embrace. Everyday should become a day of giving thanks so that the blessing of God can continue to flow into the lives of His children. There is power in giving thanks.

The giving of thanks often takes place after the manifestation of a certain blessing. When the answer to a need or somehow things that seem to be impossible come together many will take the time to thank God for his goodness and mercy.

Giving of thanks becomes even more powerful when we give thanks while we are in the middle of a major challenge and see no way out of the situation. God desires that we trust Him so much that we thank him for the outcome before we see any sign of the blessing that is on the way. This lets Him know that we have faith and confidence in Him and His word.

If we are going to live an abundant life that God has promised, prayer, praise and thanksgiving become a major part of the daily success that is expected. God is pleased when He hears His children giving thanks on a daily consistent basis.

Prayer is not something that we only do when there is a crisis in our lives. Prayer is not something that we hear when we go to church. Prayer is not the short prayer that is prayed over a meal. Prayer that becomes the major essential in your life will open doors and move mountains of circumstances out of your life. When prayer is mixed with thanksgiving there is a surge of power that is released out into the universe that will produce a harvest beyond what you thought possible.

Prayer for a specific request mixed with thanksgiving says to God, I believe your word and I trust you to do all that your word promises. Thanking God before the blessing comes into your life releases more of God’s faith. It takes unwavering faith to believe God ‘s word without any doubt about the outcome.

Daily thanksgiving acknowledges that scripture and allows the Holy Spirit to move on your behalf to bring forth the positive manifestation of the request that you have set before God.

God is saying to his children ‘make thanking me a way of life.’ In doing so, you will begin to see a change in your children, the work place, and in your community when you give thanks for the request that you have placed before Him with the expectation that it shall come to pass.

It is not too late to begin this way of living. There is still time for God to do some great things in your life. Do not focus on the calendar. God can move in a matter of minutes when we trust Him and believe that all things are possible through Him.
