Senior guard Anias Futrell of Lindenwood University was named the Player of the Week in the Ohio Valley Conference.
The former McCluer High and St. Louis Community College standout took home the weekly award for the third time this season after two big performances in road wins for the Lions.
The 6’5” Futrell averaged 23 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks in the Lions’ road victories at Southern Indiana and Morehead State.
Futrell scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Lions’ 73-60 victory over Southern Indiana. He followed that up with 26 points and nine rebounds in a 79-78 victory at Morehead State. Futrell hit two free throws with three seconds left in the game to give the Lions the come-from-behind victory.
For the season, Futrell is averaging 17.2 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting 37 percent from 3-point range and 84 percent from the free throw line.
