Senior running back Tre Bryant of CBC returns to lead one of the area’s most potent offensive units. Bryant scored 21 touchdowns in helping the Cadets to the Class 6 state championship. He has committed to Kansas State.

It is time for high school football once again in the St. Louis metro area. As we begin another exciting season this weekend, here are a few top players to watch in 2015.

Lamar Anderson (CBC): Talented senior who can excel at either running back or receiver. Had 56 receptions for 566 yards and seven touchdowns for Class 6 state champions.

Jerod Alton (Kirkwood): Senior running back who rushed for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns for Class 6 state semifinalists. Committed to Missouri.

Harry Ballard (McCluer North): A 6’2” 190-pound senior wide receiver who is one of the most dynamic performers in the state of Missouri. A state champion in the long jump in track and field.

Jaylen Bohanan (Soldan): Senior defensive end whom had 27 quarterback sacks last season to lead the St. Louis metro area.

Tre Bryant (CBC): Talented running back who rushed for 1,072 yards and scored 21 touchdowns for Class 6 state champions. Committed to Kansas State.

Roderick Campbell (Chaminade): A four-year starter who is one of the top defensive backs in the state. Committed to Northwestern University.

Dyllan Conway (Westminster): All-State receiver who had 946 yards and seven touchdowns for Class 4 state quarterfinalists.

Daylen Edwards (Ladue): Senior running back who rushed for 1,320 yards and scored 18 touchdowns for Class 5 state semifinalists.

Kaleb Eleby (Pattonville): Sophomore quarterback who burst on the scene as a freshman with 2,239 yards passing and 18 touchdowns.

A.J. Epenesa (Edwardsville): Talented junior defensive end who is ranked among the best in the country  in his class. A starter since his freshman year.

Jabriel Green (Jennings): Junior defensive lineman who returns after recording 66 tackles and 12 quarterback sacks as a sophomore.

Tionne Harris (Vianney): Talented sophomore quarterback who rushed for 1,198 yards and passed for 1,364 yards as a freshman.

Dirion Hutchins (Francis Howell): A 6’2” 215-pound senior defensive end who returns for talented Howell defense that advanced to the Class 6 state semifinals last season. Headed to Bowling Green.

Kentrail Moran (O’Fallon): A four-year starter at tailback for the Panthers who has already committed to the University of Illinois.

Brendan Scales (Lafayette): Outstanding 6’4” 240-pound tight end who excels everywhere in the Lancers’ offense. Committed to Alabama.

Trevour Simms (East St. Louis): A 6’5” 290-pound offensive lineman who will anchor the Flyers line play in what should be an explosive offensive attack. Committed to Illinois.

Jordan Siegel (Affton): Senior running back who rushed for 1,435 yards and 26 touchdowns for Class 4 state quarterfinalists.

Jeff Thomas (East St. Louis): One of the top junior receivers in the country. Had 57 receptions for 1,143 yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore.

Jordan Wilkes (Pattonville): Excellent two-way performer who had 72 tackles and eight sacks while being an impact player at receiver on offense.

Keenan Young (Althoff): A four-year starter at receiver for the Crusaders. Had 56 receptions for 651 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
