St. Louisan Jeremiyah Love of Notre Dame has been selected as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy award.
The former CBC star is one of four finalists up for the award, which is given to the most outstanding college football player.
Love is the only running back among the four finalists. He is joined by quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza of Indiana, Diego Pavia of Vanderbilt and Julian Sayin of Ohio State.
Love enjoyed a tremendous season at Notre Dame where he etched his name into the program’s record books. He finished the season with 1,372 yards and a total of 21 touchdowns.
Love’s 21 touchdowns broke Notre Dame’s single-season school record that was previously held by Jerome Bettis. Love also scored 18 rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the school’s single-season record.
Love is also a finalist for several other post-season awards. He is also up for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award.
