Standout boys basketball player Quentin Coleman of Principia has given a commitment to the University of Illinois.

The 6’4″ senior guard made his official announcement on his social media accounts on Friday morning. Coleman made a visit to Illinois earlier in the week before the team departed for Indianapolis for the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament this weekend.

Coleman is the No. 1 player in the Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2026 rankings. He led Principia to back to back Class 3 state championships. He is also rated among the top 25 players in the country. 

In his final game at Principia, Coleman scored a career-high 50 points to lead the Panthers to a 98-34 victory over Miller Career Academy in the state championship game. He led the Panthers to a 30-2 record against a national schedule.

As a senior, Coleman averaged 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.6 steals while making 78 3-pointers.

During the summer, Coleman played for Brad Beal Elite’s 17U team that won the championship of the Peach Jam at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.
