ST. LOUIS – Elizabeth Dorene “Midget” Hattix, 37, passed away peacefully at SSM DePaul Health Center (St. Louis) on Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Elizabeth was born in Racine, Wisconsin On January 23, 1969 to Charles Henry Hattix and the late Annette Hattix (nee: Martin). She had lived in Racine most of her life, relocating to St. Louis in 2004 and most recently became a resident of Alton, Illinois.
Elizabeth re-dedicated her live to God in October 2005, by joining the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, Illinois where the Reverend Edwin M. Coleman is Pastor. She loved her church family and was very excited about growing in the His Word. She was last employed with Motel Six in St. Louis.
Elizabeth is survived by her two darling daughters Kim and Berniesha Hattix of Racine, a special and much loved niece of Killen, Texas; and by her loving brother Hugh Edward (Jo Ann) Hattix, of St. Louis who watched over her daily during her illness; and further survived by brothers, Charles (Gwendolyn) Hattix, of Red Hill, Mississippi, Larry (Stephanie) Hattix of West Chester, Ohio, Kenneth (Laura) Hattix of California and Vince Hattix of Racine, Wisconsin; sisters, Sharon Hattix and Tammie (Matthew) Hattix-Covington all of Killen, Texas, Deborah Hattix of Racine, father Charles Henry Hattix of Racine and grandmother, Hattie Sanders of New Albany, Mississippi and a devoted friend, Melvin Tubbs of St. Louis She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Hattix; and three children.
Ms. Hattix was cremated and a Memorial Service was held in Racine, Wisconsin. The family wishes to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Phillip G. Zinser, the nurses, respiratory therapists and other professionals on staff at SSM DePaul Health Center for their loving and compassionate care. In addition, to the wonderful support they provided to her brother, Hugh, during this time.
