The senior hurdler will be one of the top athletes to watch at this weekend’s MSHSAA Class 3 Boys State Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City.
Robinson is the top performer for the Bulldogs, which will be one of the leading contenders for the Class 3 boys state championship. He enters the state meet as the favorite in the 110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
Robinson is riding an undefeated streak in both events that has lasted five weeks. His latest victories came at last weekend’s Class 3, Sectional 2 meet at MICDS. He won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.1 seconds, the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 39.94 and ran a leg on the Bulldogs’ first-place 4×400-meter relay team.
In the past three weeks, Robinson has won the Suburban East Conference title and Class 3, District 4 title in both events. His best time in the 110-meter high hurdles this season is 14.5 seconds. His time of 39.7 in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles set a record at the Dale Collier Invitational at Kirkwood.
Robinson is also a top student with a 3.5 grade point average and a No. 7 ranking in a senior class of 98 students. He is also a member of the National Honor Society.
