“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it. (for death or life)” Proverbs 18:21 (Amplified Bible)
The harvest that you reap this year and in the years to come will be determined to a great degree by what you speak out of your mouth. Every word that you utter from your lips has power. This is why the Bible tells us we will give an account for every idle word. (Matt. 12:36)
The success that is rightfully yours can and will be hindered by the words that you speak and the thoughts that you think. The thoughts that linger in the mind and the words that flow from the mouth of a believer plays an important role in failure or success. Whatever we continue to think about will eventually find its way into the mouth and the tongue will utter it. What is uttered will determine the level of your harvest.
You may be a person who finds yourself in church for each and every service. You may love God with every fiber of your being. You may be a giver. There may be a burning desire inside of you to do great things from God. But, your manner of thinking and speaking does not line up with the word of God. No matter how much you may love God and desire to be used by Him, your success will be limited by what you think and what you say.
Let’s look at Mark 11:22-23(Amp.) again and see how our words have a definite affect on the success or failure that we experience in life. “Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will get it.” The author, Mark, emphasizes the importance of spoken word. He shows that there is a direct correlation between the spoken word and a harvest or blessing.
The request that you make before God, the seeds (words) that you sow, the activity that you involve yourself in must be in line with God’s words.
When doubt or uncertainty is thought and eventually spoken it will abort your request and actually stop the flow of God’s power toward your desired outcome. Many a believer has experienced failure and limited success because the words spoken after the request was sent out was filled with fear and doubt and maybe even unbelief.
The enemy of your soul will take the word that you receive week after week and make sure that it does not take root in your heart. This will prevent faith from mounting up in you and you to believe without seeing. Matthew 13:19 says it this way,” While anyone is hearing the Word of the kingdom and does not grasp and comprehend it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart .” When the word has no root in your heart it becomes easy for it to be snatched from your heart.
We must deprogram and reprogram ourselves to be positive in every situation. In the midst of a crisis and when everything appears to be going wrong, the Word of God must become our road map through this temporary time of challenge. The more you attempt to grow in the Lord and the more ideas and dreams you desire to achieve, the more you will be challenged to fear, doubt, throw in the towel and quit.
The Romans 4:17 says God speaks of nonexistent things as if they already exist. If your harvest is to come forth, you must begin to think like God and talk like Him. The Bible says we are to be imitators of Christ. We must believe that we receive without seeing. Your positive expectations must be spoken out of your mouth. When the Word is spoken out of your mouth in faith it is released with the power of God that is within your spirit. God’s word will travel to its predetermined destination. This is what makes prayer so powerful. Psalms 107:20 says, He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction.” God’s word mixed with your desires will accomplish and produce a harvest when spoken from the lips of a faith-filled believer.
Your lack of success does not exist because God does not love you or He has certain picks or because another person blocked your activity. Your shortcomings exist because of the negative thoughts the enemy planted in your mind; what you spoke out of your mouth and the corresponding action that you took.
Your thoughts and words followed by corresponding action will determine the level of your harvest that will be manifested in 2005. It is to be its up to you. God has already set forth a powerful plan for your life. It’s up to you to discover it, believe that it can come to pass, speak the end result out of your mouth and walk toward your destiny.
