James Miller Jr. was born May 1, 1934 in Edwards, Mississippi. He was the youngest of two children born to Della Sizer-Morrison.
He moved to St. Louis in early childhood and received his education here. In 1952 James joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and served in the Korean War.He received several medals of honor, The Korean Service Medal, The National Defense Medal, and The Good Conduct Medal.
James joined in holy matrimony to Verlena Harden in 1962. To this union four children were born, David, Phyllis, Melissa and Khem.
He was a self-made businessman who built his business from the ground up. James opened David’s Window Cleaning Service which ran independently for 30 years.
In 1973 he became a member of the A.A.M.O.R.C. Rosicrucian Order.
He was a Muslim, a private spiritual person with a good sense of humor, who enjoyed the company of family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory his longtime companion Lillie M. Casterlow; his five children, Camille, David, Phyllis, Melissa, and Khem; two stepdaughters, Nellie, Alberta; one sister, Eulia Mae; three nieces, Peggy, Nancy, Josephine; a cousin, Velma; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
