Dr. Will R. Ross will deliver the 2026 Homer G. Phillips Public Health Lecture at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Washington University’s Eric P. Newman Education Center, 320 S. Euclid Ave.

Ross will present “The History of Public Hospitals and the Advent of Homer G. Phillips Hospital.”

Ross is Washington University’s associate dean for diversity, principal officer for community partnerships and Alumni Endowed Professor of Medicine in Nephrology.

Homer G. Phillips Hospital was a major economic and medical institution for Black St. Louisans during segregation.
