St. Louis native Jamal Roberts of the University of Missouri was named the Southeastern Conference’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

The former St. Mary’s standout running back enjoyed another dominant performance in leading the Tigers to a 27-6 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday in Columbia.

Roberts rushed for 222 yards on 34 carries and scored two touchdowns. It was the second consecutive game that Roberts rushed for at least 200 yards in a Mizzou victory. On Oct. 3, he rushed for 211 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Tigers’ 45-17 victory over Florida.

Roberts became the first Missouri player and just the third SEC running back in the past 20 seasons to have back-to-back games of at least 200 yards rushing. He joins Derrick Henry of Alabama and Leonard Fournette of LSU, who both accomplished the feat in 2015.

Through six games, Roberts leads the SEC and ranks second nationally in rushing with 828 yards on 147 carries. He has also scored eight touchdowns while averaging more than five yards per carry.

No. 13 Mizzou (5-1) will visit No. 9 Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon in Oxford, Mississippi. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
