Living in a world where so many people find themselves in the valley of decision stability is a welcomed surprise and relief. No matter what is going on in our lives, we need to keep in mind that God is still in control. Don’t get caught up in temporary; it is “the process of passing by”; deemed a “certain period of time” whose duration cannot be measured. Don’t fix your mind and emotions on “the moment” but on future things that is long lasting and pushing you towards your destiny. Hebrews 11:1 says Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
You see “temporary” can cause you to become relax; it can cause you to give up on dreams or forfeit purpose in your life. It has the tendency to cause you to focus more on the present rather than the future. Therefore, don’t put all of your eggs in one basket for it.
I’m reminded of the story about the woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:20-22. Anyone who has read the scriptures can identify that this woman definitely had some problems. Though her duration was a long one, it was still temporary. In the end, she was healed and set free of her dilemma. Many of us may not have had the same issue as this woman in particular was dealing with, but some of us have and are dealing with a continual flow of personal issues that may have lasted over a span of months and years. It may have been a job loss, bad relationship, health issues, finances, grief, drugs and alcohol; and because we have neglected to take our issues to God in prayer but instead looked for help elsewhere, only made it our situation worse! Whatever you do, refuse to trust “temporary” and know you will have to take a leap of faith and trust in God for victory.
Have you ever had to change a flat tire while on your way somewhere? Although you had a little setback you knew eventually you would get to your destination, but it was going to take you a little more time to get there. You had to drive a little slower than you normally would with the spare tire. But, in the back of your mind, you knew you had to get the original tire fixed and put back on your car in order to feel more safe driving.
It’s the same with “temporary” you make adjustments; it may slow you down but continue on to your destination, your goals, and your dreams. You may have to maneuver around the roadblocks, detours and setbacks in life to get there, but they are still within reach. What I am saying is don’t trust “temporary” he won’t be staying long….he is only passing by.
