Last month Academy Award winning actress Mo’Nique penned an essay for The Hollywood Reporter claiming director Lee Daniels told her she’d been blackballed by the industry for refusing to promote the movie “Precious.”

Since then Mo’Nique has given several interviews blaming Daniels for the smear campaign against her. She told “Good Morning America” he was just angry because she didn’t thank him in her Oscar speech. She also claimed she was only paid $50K for her Academy Award-winning performance and that she was originally offered the role of Cookie Lyons in Daniels’ hit show “Empire,” only to have the offer disappear.

Gabourey Sidibe, who was also nominated for an Academy Award for Precious and current co-star of “Empire,” chimed in on Twitter and seems to be siding with Daniels.

“It’s sad to see a project like Precious, that was made with such love, be dragged through the mud by selfishness and lies,” Sibide said.
