R. Kelly, who is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence for multiple sex crimes, is seeking to be released from prison, claiming jail officials attempted to solicit a fellow inmate to kill him.
In a court filing last week, Kelly asked a judge to be released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina.
Kelly claims a prison officer “illegally accessed and stole a series of phone calls and emails” between the former musician and a woman and his attorney, according to the motion. He also alleges a former cellmate stole “attorney-client correspondence” and shared the letters with prosecutors ahead of his trial in New York.
Kelly alleges that prison officials tried to have him killed to stop this information from being released.
“R. Kelly’s life is being threatened because of his decision to stand up and expose the violation of his constitutional rights made by corrupt prosecutors who use Bureau of Prisons officers and cooperating witnesses to facilitate these violations,” Kelly’s attorney said in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter.

I think he should be released.R.Kelly got promission from some of the woman parents that allegedly he had the sex tapes with and the money stop incoming in so no it’s like lock him up it’s Ppl in higher power than Robert Kelly is doing right now and they not locked up for that right now and 30years is just reductes and you have ppl that’s murder someone and get 15yrs.and he is one of the most powerful singers in the world and I’m ready for another trapped in the closet serious LoL.but prayers go out to him and his family and friends because he needs to be back in the entertainment business and we all fall short of the glory and only God can judge someone for their mistakes and lets keep God first and drama last and he been attacked in prison move him to a secure place and let him go like they did with big meech and southwest terry.peace and love to every human beam.already✌️🤘.
