R&B balladeer Peabo Bryson is under medical care after suffering a stroke, according to a statement shared with Variety. “Two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer Peabo Bryson — the voice behind the Oscar-winning Disney songs “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Whole New World” — has suffered a stroke and is currently under medical care,” his representative said, adding that the family is requesting privacy as they navigate “this deeply personal moment.”Bryson, 75, built a career on his smooth vocals and signature duets, including “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love,” “You’re Looking Like Love to Me” and “As Long as There’s Christmas.” His collaborations with Celine Dion and Regina Belle became defining Disney ballads of the 1990s, and his decade-long run of duet hits included work with Roberta Flack, Angela Bofill and Belle.
