The Airport Area Redevelopment Commission has approved an agreement with NorthPark Partners to develop 600 acres east of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, but only after the partners “committed” to meet the commission’s policy goals of 25 percent minority-owned business and five percent women-owned business.
County Executive Charlie Dooley told the American in January that he would see to it that the commitment was made to fill those goals.
He called the redevelopment project “an unprecedented development opportunity.”
The project could create 12,000 jobs, property and income tax revenue of more than $387 million and a total economic impact of $7 billion.
NorthPark partners is comprised of McEagle, TriStar Business Communities and ClayCorp. ClayCorp works closely with African American-owned Legacy Building Group, which was founded by Todd Weaver.
