Passenger enplanements (departing passengers) of more than 567,000 at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport in August were up 4.7 percent over August of 2011. Lambert is currently showing a 2.1 percent year-to-date increase in enplanements for the first eight months of 2012 recording 4.25 million passengers versus 4.17 million in 2011.

The number of arriving passengers also saw gains in August. Approximately 584,000 passengers arrived at Lambert in August versus 552,000 one year ago. Year-to-date, Lambert is running a 2.3 percent increase in arriving traffic totaling 4.26 million passengers. The total passenger traffic year-to-date is 8.51 million passengers.

Southwest Airlines is Lambert’s market leader at 46.4 percent. Southwest saw a 10 percent increase in enplanements in August and is showing a six percent year-to-date increase over 2011.
