Fifteen high school age girls received a head start on considering their career futures during the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s first Camp CEO July 11-15 at the council’s Camp Fiddlecreek.
Throughout the five-day session, girl participants spent time with mentors including African-American female executives Judy Griffin, Brenda Newberry, Theresa Mayberry and Laurna Godwin.
The girls learned, networking and team-building skills, visited a woman-owned business and enjoyed traditional camp activities such as canoeing, swimming, archery and earning Girl Scout patches.
The camp also included a “Pearls of Wisdom” session, in which participating women leaders shared stories about their life and career.
