The Missouri Foundation for Health will present Health Summit 2010 from December 8-10 at the Doubletree Hotel & Conference Center in Chesterfield.
Titled “Missouri Health Landscape – 2011 and Beyond,” the conference starts at 2:30 pm Wednesday, December 8 and concludes at about 1 pm Friday, December 10.
Conference sessions examine health insurance reform’s effects on a number of sectors, including hospitals, the health care workforce, Medicare and Medicaid, state government, health information technology, the health care safety net, specific health issues, and the medically underserved in Missouri.
Scheduled speakers and panelists include Margaret Donnelly, director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services; Judy Baker, regional director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Jay Angoff, director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight; Len Nichols, director of the Center for Health Policy Research & Ethics at George Mason University; and Noam Levey, health reporter, Washington, D.C., bureau of the Los Angeles Times.
Established in 2000, the Missouri Foundation for Health is the largest nongovernmental funder of community health activities in Missouri. It is in its eighth year of grantmaking, having issued more than $390 million in grants and awards to date. It is dedicated to improving the health of unserved and underserved residents in 84 Missouri counties and the City of St. Louis.
Registration for the conference is $50, which covers all sessions, meals and materials. Lodging is not included, but discount rates are available to Health Summit attendees. Registrants must secure lodging at the Doubletree no later than November 14 to receive the discount.
