A suburban St. Louis man is sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for defrauding investors of $4.5 million over a 16-year period.
James Knight of Hazelwood was also ordered to pay restitution to more than 50 victims. Federal prosecutors say investors trusted Knight with bank and retirement accounts, which he used to gamble at casinos in Illinois and Missouri.
Knight, who is 58, pleaded guilty in December to two counts of mail and wire fraud, three counts of interstate transportation of stolen money, one count of bank fraud and one count of credit card fraud, all felonies
