Harris-Stowe State University has contracted Kwame Building Group as program manager for its $15 million on-campus residence hall, the second campus housing project in the 153-year-old university’s history. KWAME also was program manager on the university’s first residence hall.
“With our campus expanding in so many different ways, we had to have a place to house more of our students who were looking for that well-rounded college experience,” said HSSU President Henry Givens Jr.
The 70,000-square-foot residence hall will provide on-campus housing and study spaces for 200 of the university’s students and will house the campus’ new dining hall. The building is funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Historically Black College University Capital Financing Program.
Grice Group Architects and Trivers Associates are providing architectural services. Kwame and Grice Group are both St. Louis-based minority business enterprises.
