Life Skills, a local nonprofit that helps people with developmental disabilities, was awarded $141,000 in tax credits by the Missouri Department of Economic Development under the Neighborhood Assistance Program. Life Skills, a United Way agency, can give these tax credits to businesses who donate cash, materials, supplies or equipment; technical assistance and professional services; labor; real estate; or stocks and bonds.
The tax credits, which can equal up to 50 percent of the value of the contribution, are used to offset the contributor’s Missouri income tax liability. Contributions made to Life Skills between July 1 and June 30, 2015 are eligible for the NAP tax credit. Contact Sheryl Ray at 314-394-7018 or sheryl.ray@lifeskills-mo.org.Â
