The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Inc. has received a $25,000 grant from the Monsanto Fund to support the organization’s Science Exploration program, which provides science education to more than 700 preschool children served through the Urban League Head Start program.

Through the program, preschoolers and youth attend field trips to the Saint Louis Science Center, the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Forest Park Jewel Box and receive classroom science lessons to coincide with the activities.

“The Science Exploration program is particularly important because it provides hands-on learning to students who typically would not otherwise have access,” said Deborah Patterson, president, the Monsanto Fund.
