The North County Krispy Kreme store, St. Louis’ first Krispy Kreme location, re-opened Monday after being closed for a four-month renovation, following a mechanical fire.
The general manager of the North County and Fenton stores, Joe Pirtle, is African-American. In addition, all three North County store managers helping to reopen the store are African-American: Zakiya Johnson, Gloria Strickland and Shavar Brooks. The North County location, at 10880 West Florissant Ave., sells more than 100,000 doughnuts per week.
