Catherine Dennis

Harris-Stowe State University has hired Catherine Dennis as its new chief of public safety. With an impressive career spanning 28 years in law enforcement and public safety, Dennis brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of community engagement, leadership, and strategic initiatives.

Dennis served with distinction in various capacities within the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) for nearly three decades, including contributions to the 3rd district, bike patrol, Canine Unit, Problem Properties, and Community Engagement. Notably, she played a key role in revamping the Citizens Academy, establishing herself as a pillar within the community.

Dennis also previously served as director of public safety at Ranken Technical College, where she spearheaded a comprehensive restructuring of the Public Safety Department.
