Irvetta Williams was appointed as the City of Jennings’ new Director of Housing and Economic Development. Williams is responsible for managing the building code officials and activities related to code compliance in the city. She is also responsible for the economic development activities including the redevelopment of the site formerly known as the River Roads Mall. Williams, a native of St. Louis, is the first African-American department head in the city. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas.
