Karl Grice, principal and founder of Grice Group Architects was installed as 2011 president of the St. Louis Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He is the first African American to serve as president of the St. Louis Chapter. Grice is a native St. Louisan, having graduated from Sumner High School before earning undergraduate and masters degrees at Washington University. The American Institute of Architects is the professional organization of architects.
