Lorraine Cole is now the first black woman to lead the YWCA USA as its CEO.
Prior to the YWCA, Cole led the Black Women’s Health Imperative for nearly six years. She was also the executive director of the National Medical Association for six years. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication Science at Northwestern University and is a Certified Association Executive.
“Dr. Cole’s experience in advocating for women’s issues on a national level will be a critical assest to our organization,” said Joy Burns, YWCA Metro St. Louis CEO.
