Lt. Gen. Darryl. A. Williams

Lt. Gen. Darryl. A. Williams is first black officer to command West Point. He became the military academy’s 60th superintendent during a ceremony Monday morning. Williams, a native of Alexandria, Virginia and a 1983 U.S. Military Academy graduate, previiously held high-ranking Army posts in Europe and Asia, most recently as commander of NATO’s Allied Land Command, based in Turkey.
