Maurice Scott, an East St. Louis civic leader and St. Louis American contributor, was recently recognized by East St. Louis School District 189 for his dedication and impact in transforming the East St. Louis baseball program.
Several players have earned college scholarships, and “Scott has not only focused on athletic success but also on strengthening ties within the East St. Louis community,” according to a District 189 statement. “He is a true pillar of inspiration, leadership, and heart.”
“Baseball is being resurrected in East St. Louis. These kids have made it happen,” Scott said.
