Saint Louis University senior Russell Hooker Jr. has been named a 2025-2026 Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellow.
The Newman Civic Fellowship is a year-long program that recognizes and supports community-committed students who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for some of society’s toughest challenges. The fellowship is named in honor of Frank Newman, one of Campus Compact’s founders.
Hooker Jr. is majoring in psychology with dual minors in African American Studies and theatre. He has served as a SLU 101 Orientation Leader, helping new SLU students acclimate to student life. He has also volunteered with Campus Kitchen.
