The St. Louis Walk of Fame will induct retired Congressman William “Bill” Clay during a ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2. Clay was elected as a city alderman in 1953 and became Missouri’s first African-American congressman in 1968. He served 32 years in Congress and was a founder of the Congressional Black Caucus in 1970.
