The Omicron Eta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. has worked to help many local students find the best scholarships for school through by partnering with Scholarship Solution events. The Scholarship Solution is a company started by Pamela Westbrooks who is also AKA’s chair of the education committee.
“The Scholarship Solution’s mission is to provide families with the knowledge and tools necessary to perform a successful scholarship search,” Westbrooks said. Recently AKA and The Scholarship Solution hosted a scholarship seminar for area high school students and their parents.
“The objective of the workshop was for families to leave with the understanding that it takes leadership and planning on the part of the parents and partnering with their children to effectively use the scholarship research tools and tips we shared.”
The organization has several similar events planned in the future. AKA and The Scholarship Solution will partner with the St. Louis Metropolitan chapter of Jack and Jill and Upward Bound to host another scholarship seminar at St. Louis Community College November 17.
