The Society of Professional Journalists Region 7 Conference will be held in St. Louis April 7-8 in the training facilities of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Among this year’s highlights: Walt Harrington, former Washington Post writer, award-winning literary journalist and author of “Intimate Journalism: The Art and Craft of Reporting Everyday Life”; Matt Sedensky of the Associated Press, who’ll share experiences from covering Hurricane Katrina; andChristine Tatum, SPJ president-elect and business writer with The Denver Post, who’ll present a “Bootcamp for Young Journalists.”
