The St. Louis Chapter of the National Black MBA Association capped off a tremendous year with an awards ceremony Thursday evening at A.G. Edwards. About 200 people turned out to accept awards on behalf of their various companies and to hear an inspirational message from keynote speaker Aeneas Williams. The former Rams defensive standout and New Orleans native obtained a degree in accounting from Southern University and owns five auto dealerships.
Activities for the NBMBAA chapter in 2005 included the St. Louis Empowerment Initiative featuring noted international speaker Stedman Graham, the 6th annual The Drive for Success golf tournament and the 12th annual professional job fair. The organization also designates a generous portion of their proceeds to help area students achieve academic success. This year alone, the St. Louis NBMNAA chapter awarded $13,500 in scholarships and sent an area high school student to the organization’s national conference where she won a $2,000 scholarship award.
