Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan recently announced the addition of two educational online resources available to patrons of schools, public libraries and academic institutions that are part of the Missouri Research and Education Network (MOREnet).

With these new resources, Missourians will be able to do online test preparation for standardized tests, and students and teachers will be able to access helpful classroom materials.

The two online resources, Learning Express Library and the Gale Discovering Collection, were recently acquired by the Missouri State Library for MOREnet users. Learning Express Library is now available to Missourians looking to further their academic, trade or professional careers. Online test preparation materials are available for several standardized tests, including the ACT, GED, GMAT, GRE and LSAT, as well as for people preparing to take tests for professional certifications, such as the EMS and Firefighter tests.

Individuals seeking U.S. citizenship can also find online citizenship test resources through Learning Express Library.

Additionally, the Gale Discovering Collection is now available for Missouri students and teachers. This online resource consists of essays, reference works and magazine articles on the subjects of Literature, History, Biography, Science and Social Studies for grades kindergarten through 12.

By negotiating licenses for these resources, the Missouri State Library helped individual libraries and schools save thousands of dollars in charges they would pay to subscribe to the resources individually. Both the Gale Discovering Collection and Learning Express Library are available at MOREnet institutions.

MOREnet provides valuable internet services and training to Missouri’s K-12 schools, institutions of higher education, public libraries, government and other affiliated organizations. The MOREnet consortium encompasses approximately 514 school districts, 132 public libraries and 68 higher education institutions.
